Brief

Irish Sailing requested our assistance with the delivery of a new website. The existing website was dated, content heavy and overwhelming, and no longer supported the national governing body’s objectives. The new website also needed to bring ‘in-house’ a separate Try Sailing website with its own look and feel.

Challenges

  • Duplicated content

  • Not optimised for mobile

  • Branding unclear

    Multiple stakeholders

  • Limited resources

  • Poor user experience (UX) – complex navigation, unstructured content, multiple menus (both menu bars and on page menus), unintuitive language, unclear UX system, duplicated titles)

Before – Extensive, multiple menus across the site made navigation difficult

Before – A tired looking website in need of a user-friendly UI interface and a fresh design

Digital Brand Guidelines

Digital brand guidelines were provided to support the Irish Sailing team and to ensure brand consistency.

Irish Sailing hired InsideOut to project manage a re-build of our website, end to end, from user analysis to requirements, to design, build, test, user acceptance and launch. InsideOut were an excellent partner start to finish. Phases and ownership were clear from the start. They were flexible and highly professional in their approach, which made buy-in and acceptance easier. And they were efficient and effective in their approach to dependencies, milestones and bottlenecks.

InsideOut became one of the team in their approach and yet remained independent, guiding us in matters of strategy.

InsideOut also provided online brand guidelines and team training which were excellently executed.

Irish Sailing gained great value from InsideOut’s assistance in delivering our project. We have retained them as a partner in the area of Brand and Online and would strongly recommend them.
